DESCRIPTION:November 2024 Simulcast | Lorri Scott: My Designing Story\n\nNovember 9\, 2024: 10:30-noon PST \nSaratoga Senior Center\n19655 Allendale Avenue\, Saratoga\, CA 95070\n(Park at Civic Center) \nFiber artist and author Lorri Ann Scott magically transforms silk fabrics\, ribbons\nand garments into colorful and visually-striking works using shibori\, resist\, vat-dye\nand dye-printing techniques. Lorri is a self-taught weaver\, dyer and clothing\ndesigner. In addition to her own book\, Wayward Threads\, her work has been\npublished in numerous juried shows and publications\, including Altered Couture\,\nQuilting Arts\, Spindle Shuttle & Dyepot and Belle Armoire Summer 2012\,.\nLorri will bring some of her early handwoven/hand dyed garments and\naccessories\, talk about her dye work\, and how she segued into creating upcycled\ngarments. She will also show some of the garments that she created for her book\n“Wayward Threads: Techniques and Ideas for Upcycling Unloved or Discarded\nGarment”.\nLorri’s latest work is focused on shibori\, botanical\, and rust dyeing. Her creations\,\neither made from dyed fabrics or discarded garments\, are upcycled by\nappliqueing dyed pieces onto them or overdyeing the garment itself. It’s been a\njourney over many years\, always exploring and\nmaking new discoveries.\nLorri resides in the Santa Cruz Mountains outside Los Gatos\, CA. \nThis is an hybrid seminar and Zoom simulcast\, free to all active PenWAG members. \nGuests may join; a $10 contribution is requested to help defray our costs \n$10.00Read more	\n			\n \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
