DESCRIPTION:December 14 Workshop | Carol Ziogas: Hitomezashi Sashiko\n  \n \nDecember 14 Workshop | Carol Ziogas: Hitomezashi Sashiko\nHitomezashi sashiko- Learning to draft traditional “one stitch” patterns onto fabric to make garments.   \nSashiko patterns can be categorized into 2 distinct styles of stitches: Hitomezashi\, or one-stitch\, and Moyozashi\, or patterned stitch.  Hitomezashi is typically used for straight lines and angular shapes\, where stitches meet or cross.  Moyozashi patterns feature curved or straight lines and the stitches never meet or cross. \nStudents will be making something similar to the pictures\, but not copying Carol’s work so your piece may look different. \nClass limit – 20 participants- in person only \nPrice: $65 ($45 for PenWAG members) \nSupply kits for class will be available for purchase at the workshop.  $25 \nExtra supplies to bring to class: \n\na ruler (12″ long is fine\, nothing too big)\nblue painters tape\npins (optional)\nnotebook and pen/pencil for notes\n1/4″ graph paper – some is included in the kit\, but it’s good to have extra\nfabric marking pen is optional.
