DESCRIPTION:Lecture: Live And Let Dye \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRenee Filice shares her inspiration for creating art that can be framed or worn by painting on silk with dyes\, gutta resist\, wax\, and salt. She especially loves creating paintings depicting landscapes\, seascapes\, architecture\, and still life. “If a scene speaks to me\, I try to \n\n\n\nRoosevelt Room – Q-80  Free for members; $5 guests at door \n\n\n\nSaturday Workshop: Paint Silk To Embellish Your Clothes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith provided silk\, participants are guided on how to create a painting using the gutta serti technique. Finished projects can be used as framed art\, embellishments for clothing and accessories\, or home decor pillows.Participants will be guided to create a painting using the gutta serti technique. A second work of art will be created using a foolproof method for flowing silk paints in an abstract way\, without using a resist. Finished silks can be used as framed art\, embellishments for clothing and accessories or home decor pillows. Participants should bring an 11″ X 14″ pencil drawing of a symbol or a simple shape\, such as a fleur de lis\, flower\, or fish.
