July 8 Workshop/Play Day Sashiko Stitching

Come join us for an afternoon of slow stitching, Japanese style!
Ever been curious and want to know more about the iconic form of Japanese embellishment
called sashiko? Join the July PenWAG play date and learn how this form of mending with a
lowly running stitch evolved into the stitching art sashiko.

The workshop will be led by Leilani Bennett.

Kits will be provided with everything you need to complete the sample piece shown. We will also have books on sashiko, garments and decorative wall pieces that incorporate sashiko embroidery—all for inspiration and enjoyment!
Space is limited to 20 participants so register early.

Cost: $15 (members) to cover the room expense, no charge for the kit.
There will be a Zoom link to join virtually so you can see Leilani’s demonstration, ask questions,
and sew along. The kit is limited to those attending in person.
