Description

A poorly fitted sleeve can transform a beautiful garment into a loving-hands-at-home piece. While loving hands at home is perfect for baked goods lovingly presented, it is anathema to a maker of fine garments.

In this class you will learn the secrets of sleeve ease—where and how much ease is just right; sleeve to armscye ratios; to press or not to press; pinning versus basting; the why and how of sleeve heads; where to place shoulder pads (and why they are so important even in this era of the natural shoulder line); and the sleeve tricks Leilani has learned—many of them learned the hard way.

This will be a combination of a demonstration workshop and a sample sewing workshop.
