April 11 – Karen Miller Zoom Workshop: Twist and Wrap Coat
Twist and Wrap Coat
Karen is leading us in a workshop that is unrelated to the Katazome. It is a fast and easy way to make a versatile and flattering lightweight flowing “coat” using 2 yards of fabric, 2 seams, and 2 hours of time. This requires just 2 yards of a fabric which is attractive from both sides, and somewhat drapey. It need not be silk, rayon works fine. She also suggests using challis, pongee, and various jacquards, dyed, painted, ecoprinted or a commercial print. A serger can be helpful but is not essential. Looking at photos below will give you an idea of what this garment looks like.
After registering, the unique pattern will be sent to you. What you will need is 2 yards of fabric as described above, matching thread, serger if available but not mandatory.
