Saturday Workshop: Paint Silk To Embellish Your Clothes
With provided silk, participants are guided on how to create a painting using the gutta serti technique. Finished projects can be used as framed art, embellishments for clothing and accessories, or home decor pillows.Participants will be guided to create a painting using the gutta serti technique. A second work of art will be created using a foolproof method for flowing silk paints in an abstract way, without using a resist. Finished silks can be used as framed art, embellishments for clothing and accessories or home decor pillows. Participants should bring an 11″ X 14″ pencil drawing of a symbol or a simple shape, such as a fleur de lis, flower, or fish. Think child’s coloring book simple (and feel free to enlarge a page or use copyright free images from the internet – trace, and enlarge).
