Saturday Workshop: The “Embroidery of France Ireland and Italy”

Create a small needle book to learn the basic Boutis Provencal embroidery technique. Hand stitch this small project while listening to the background of this French needle art dating from the 14th century. While the appearance is similar to trapunto, Boutis pieces are not cut to achieve the raised effect, and it is completely reversible. Participants will learn transfer a design, stitch, cord, and stuff the marked design for added dimension. Machine stitching techniques will be demonstrated.
