PenWAG conducts its meetings and workshops as a mixture of virtual and in-person events, with added virtual access for our remote members, venue and technology permitting. Check the details for each individual event to see how it is being presented.
In the interest of everyone’s best health, the board requests that all in-person attendees be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 in accordance with the latest CDC recommendations.

Peninsula Wearable Arts Guild
Come learn with us! Wearable art garments and accessories are timeless. The goal of PenWAG is to bring together designers and dabblers in artful clothing and accessories, to expand our artistic horizons, to encourage and nurture the creativity in each of us. PenWAG is a San Francisco Bay Area guild dedicated to education about and promotion of art in the form of garments and accessories. We host a monthly meeting at the Campbell Community Center on the second Saturday of each month. Following the morning meeting, we present workshops and classes. PenWAG is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational organization incorporated in the State of California (EIN 261088159).

An online Zoom webinar
Margaret has painted and adorned fabric for costumes for the Lion King, Hadestown, Moulin Rouge, Wicked, Aladdin and many more. With over 30 years experience painting for Broadway shows, dance, arena events, ice shows and film, She will talk about the process – from a designer’s painted sketch, through samples, fittings, painting, paint corrections, to a finished costume. She specializes in applying metallic decoration on fabric and other surfaces. and will share sketches, working with drapers, white fittings, painted fabric samples and completed costumes.

An online (zoom) workshop. (Note there are now different prices for in-person vs zoom attendance.)
The use of foil is unique and fascinating! Participants will use glues and transfer sheets to add metallic interest to an existing garment or fabric that they provide. Margaret will guide with ideas and processes unique to using foil as well as other materials, including methods to use foil on both woven and stretch fabrics. Included with be education of creating wash-fastness pieces.
