Lecture: Textile Sculpture
Kay Khan is a master in the art of sculpting with textiles. She has created vases and other large-scale 3D pieces using a technique she calls “extreme quilting.” Her pieces often have bridges between the parts. She creates mosaics from bits and pieces of various textiles. Often the idea begins with a simple word that she manipulates in her mind until it’s transformed into a visual concept.

Workshop: Extreme Quilted Jewelry
In the half-day workshop we will create our own collage using many of Kay’s techniques. For those fortunate to take the Sunday full-day workshop, the piece created on Saturday will be used to make a distinctive and lively necklace.
There will be 7 spaces in the half-day workshop for those who do not want to take the complete workshop.
