A simulcast (live and Zoom) hybrid seminar from Mayumi Fujio Have you ever seen a stunning flower, vine, mushroom, or leaf in nature and wished you could capture its beauty in cloth, to wear or display at home? Join us for a talk and a demo with fiber artist Mayumi Fujio who lives in the Bay Area creating silk scarves, wall decorations, and art to wear garments using natural dye and real leaves to print their pattern.
An in-person only workshop
Mayumi will introduce botanical printing using fresh leaves and flowers along with minerals to transfer natural colors and shapes from plants onto fiber. This introductory class will give you an understanding of dye plants and deepen your relationship with nature
An online Zoom workshop featuring Karen Miller.
Karen is leading us in a workshop that is unrelated to the Katazome. It is a fast and easy way to make a versatile and flattering lightweight flowing “coat” using 2 yards of fabric, 2 seams, and 2 hours of time.
